Recording and gazing at their own faces augmented by Snapchat, co-creators Michele Cheng and Seiyoung Jang ruminate on the racialized and sexualized imagery imposed by intrusive technology such as face filters and AI. They respond to the uncanny valley of generalized beauty by creating an electronic soundscape through their own custom-built instruments, reclaiming their images with new interpretation. The installation features an angled smart mirrors panel built by the artists, in which their artificial faces are projected and reflected onto the environment, when the audience see their own unfiltered face immersed with the artificial ones.
